García breaks postseason RBI record with walk-off blast

Adolis García broke the postseason RBI record with a walk-off home run in Game 1 of the World Series, driving in his 22nd run of the playoffs.

This is a great accomplishment for García and the Rangers, and it will be interesting to see if he can continue to produce at such a high level in the rest of the series.

Adolis García became the new postseason RBI king with a walk-off home run in Game 1 of the World Series, driving in his 22nd run of the playoffs to break David Freese's record set in 2011.

Adolis Garcia is a Cuban professional baseball outfielder for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the St. Louis Cardinals and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Yomiuri Giants. García was an MLB All-Star in 2021 and 2023.

García was born in Ciego de Ávila, Cuba, and defected from the country in 2015. He signed with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2017 and made his MLB debut in 2018. After spending two seasons with the Cardinals, García was traded to the Texas Rangers in December 2019.

García broke out in his first full season with the Rangers in 2021, batting .243/.286/.454 with 31 home runs, 90 RBIs, and 16 outfield assists. He was named to the American League All-Star Game and finished the season ranked fourth in the AL in home runs and fifth in RBIs.

García had another strong season in 2023, batting .250/.300/.456 with 27 home runs, 101 RBIs, and 25 stolen bases. He was again named to the American League All-Star Game and helped the Rangers reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

In the 2023 postseason, García has been on fire, batting .364/.455/.727 with 11 RBIs in just 11 games. He drove in the winning run in Game 1 of the World Series with a walk-off home run, and he is now the all-time leader in postseason RBIs with 22.

García is a versatile outfielder who can play all three positions. He is also a plus runner and has a strong arm. He is still developing as a hitter, but he has shown the potential to be a star player in MLB for many years to come.
